Lodestar Waterside Apartment Hotels

Very disappointed in the condition of this place, I have stayed in places that are better quality than this for lesser value. The rooms were in dire need of renovations and a deep clean, stains on the carpet and walls etc. Be super careful of the balcony as the flooring was severely rotted away to the point it may snap under you and you will fall through. Parking was confusing and very narrow to drive through, If you have a large 4x4 give this place a miss, it will not fit. Will only use as a last resort, if nothing else is available.

We chose to stay at this place because the apartments are in a nice neighbourhood and in close proximity to all the places we wanted to visit in Perth. We also liked that the apartment unit came with a washing machine and dryer. Unfortunately, the washing machine broke down on one of the days of our stay. We contacted the service staff Vai the telephone number on their keychain but the response we got was not helpful at all. Eventually someone agreed to enter our apartment the next morning while we were out to look at the washing machine. There was no update from the service staff the whole day and it was only when we called them again in the evening that we were simply told that "the washing machine was not working" (something we obviously already new). Nothing was done to fix the washing machine nor help us with our laundry requirements and eventually we checked out of the apartment as scheduled but with more unwashed laundry than we had planned for.

We got back from exploring the city and the black.molds been cleaned, the floors aren't making our feet dirty, linens changed etc etc. So I'm unsure if we just got a bad room and they're usually clean. As the room is now, it's clean and nice Unclean, grubby and superficially cleaned. I specifically asked via phone and by email for the room to be extra clean as the reviews had me worried, they assured me they would do an extra through cleaning. There's were big bits of snot on the wall by the toilet roll holder, black mould in the shower, the floor makes our feet black from the dirtyness and the whole room is just grubby. The bed had bottom sheet, top sheet, duvet then another sheet. This was apparently covering the duvets 3 big piss stains on it. Have not gotten the duvet changed yet..... At check in she was friendly but had a disapproving face when she saw my husband (gay), she said the linen would be changed every 3 days, it's been over a week and still no linen change despite asking the cleaning person. The website mentions a college gym that's partnered with them we can join up to, she stated that's false, the website had a $50 bond and we got charged $100, website has many other differences to reality. The TV is tiny, movie channels don't work It's a decent location, 40 min walk or 10 min walk and 15 min ferry to CBD. Overall needs a good clean and it would be ok

This was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had with any accommodation provider. My husband and I checked in and checked out within the hour, due to the filthy rooms at Lodestar Waterside Apartments. To go back to the beginning, things started off well, the check in was easy and staff seemed friendly. Unfortunately, upon checking into our room, we noticed that the floors hadn’t been vacuumed and there was a disturbing amount of black mould in the shower. Then we noticed the filthy cookware, microwave with other people's food splattered all over it, and the disgusting smell from the bin (which was empty but caked with mould on the inside of the lid). We notified staff who mentioned there was no housekeeping available until the next day. The options we were given were to move to the only other available room or told "if it's not up to your standard then you can go elsewhere". We looked at the other room and to our surprise and horror, this room was also unvacuumed, and in the same dirty condition as the other. The clumps of someone else's hair on the floor and the uncleaned bin were a real lowlight. We decided to check out immediately and booked alternative accommodation. I would rate this place 0/5 if possible, I've never seen such unhygienic accommodation, and the staff didn't really seem to care or apologise. I honestly think the shower must have gone weeks or months without cleaning for that amount of mould to accumulate (refer attached pictures). I have read other Google reviews for the property where the owner has actually commented that they don't do servicing on the weekend to keep costs down - unsure where the savings are when the average rate on the website is currently $220 a night. Besides, any 'savings' aren't worth the health hazard you'll need to endure. The comment made was in regard to on-going stays, however it is apparent they don’t clean the rooms for new guests either, they just make up the beds and fold some towels. My advice is to run, don't walk, to any other available accommodation!!!
